Somatics Practices for Impact Play
Impact play is among the most popular aspects of BDSM. Whether we can articulate it or not, a lot of us come to this practice hoping for something transcendent–getting out of our brains and into our bodies, building safety and trust with another person/people, and exploring the edges of new experience.
Somatic practices–breathing and movement exercises that speak to the nervous system/emotional self by way of the body–are a powerful tool for creating scenes that can approach that transcendent space. In this class, you will learn:
–Getting into the body: breath, movement and meditation exercises that ground and prepare the body for intense* play (*how intense is always up to those playing!)
–Communication and negotiation for impact and trampling: what to ask, how to answer ,how to listen
–Anatomy for perverts: managing safety and intensity
–Basic techniques using hands, feet and implements
–Somatic responses during play: learning to read your partner
–Somatics-based aftercare for grounding, connection and integration
This will be an experiential workshop, with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion!
